ABSTRACT Spectral Music
Nowadays, spectral music is considered for a section of musicians old-fashioned or even a kindof music with few supporters.However, do composers go on seeking their expression through this kind of music or are therestill prospectings for new adjusted techniques with the support of the evolution of our era?Thesis of this specific project is, in the first unit the presentation of the spectral music and itsviability in our days, in virtue of an historical retrospection its presentation in music, via a brief analysis of musical works’ extracts with reference to the spectrum and via its connection withtoday’s technology. The structures and the compositional techniques that are used in spectralmusic are described, as well, in this project. Composers who were occupied with the specific wayof composing music are also mentioned. Finally, tendencies that relate spectral music withnowadays are described.In the second unit there is a slight reference to the software which influenced and helped to theevolution of spectral music and a brief presentation of Spear software.In the end, there is an analysis of “K 11004” work for orchestra, which was created withoccasion of this particular project.
